Our library has a motto “There are no limits for creative adventures” with this motto Shri Guru Ishwar Shivacharya Maharaj Public Library attempts to satiate the thirst of readers in our area.
Good books enlighten the minds of people and give a positive direction to the society. An inspired group of friends formed Shri Guru Ishwar Shivacharya Maharaj Public Library ,Basmathnagar to offer their selfless services to the society and educate the masses. We are pleased to see that many readers and research scholars have been taking advantage of our library.
With the blessings and inspiration of the then Mathadhisha Sadguru 108 Ishwar Shivacharya Maharaj, the library was founded on 21 February 1996. The library has been recognized by the government in 1997-98 and its Registration No. is F-2595 (Parbhani). It has been given ‘B’ grade.
Shri Guru Ishwar Shivacharya Maharaj Public Library, is also known as “Ishwar Granthalaya”. All the directors and members of the library are well known figures from the fields of literature, music and performing arts. The beautified entrance of the library is a testimony to the aesthetic sense of the concern authorities.
The library was started with only 150 books in the beginning. Today it has more than 10,000 books on various subjects on its shelves. It has preserved all types of books on literature, science and competitive exams. An independent section has been solely devoted to the service of the students appearing for various competitive examinations.
The library has been computerized on 4 March 2013 at the hands of Dr.Nagnath Kottapalle, the president of 86thAkhil Bhartiya Marathi Sahitya Samelan and in the presence of Shri Ashok Gadekar (Assistant director of libraries, Aurangabad).
The foundation day of the library is marked with the guest lecturers of noted personalities from the different walks of life.

The directors of the library have a strong faith in human values and constructive work. The library is currently functioning in a rented premise. .No constructive work can progress without the active support of people and their goodwill. The library is greatly in need of generous donations, good wishes and moral support. Many readers have shown their love and faith in the work done by the library. We shall ever remain grateful to them.
